Wat Rong Khun

Wat Rong Khun is also known as the White Temple, is designed in white color with some use of white glass. Wat Rong Khun is different from any other temple in Thailand. The bridge leading to the temple represents the crossing over from the cycle of rebirth to the Abode of Buddha. It is the realization of a dream for Thailands noted artist, Mr Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed and is supervising the construction of this beautiful white temple and its many statues of figures based on religious beliefs. The construction started in 1998 and is expected to be completed in 2008. In addition, there is a gallery nearby exhibiting his paintings. To get there from the city of Chiang Rai, drive north along Asia Highway.

Chonburi - Koh Lan, Pattaya

About 7.5 kilometers off of Pattaya by a 45-minute ferry or 15 minutes by speed boat ride, the island measures 2 kilometers by 5 kilometers and offers several white sandy beaches, notably Hat Ta Waen, Hat Laem Thian and Hat Thong Long, the latter facing coral reefs. Visitors can choose either snorkeling or viewing the coral from glass bottom boats. Ferries to the island leave South Pattaya pier (Tha Na Baan) daily from 10.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Cruises by sailing junks, with lunch provided are also available.

Bang Pa-in Palace - Ayutthaya

Bang Pa-In Palace is located on the Chao Phraya River bank in Bang Pa-In district, Ayutthaya Province. The Palace was built by King Prasat Thong also known as the Summer Palace. Bang Pa-In Palace was build in 1632, and though it lay empty and overgrown throughout the late 18th and early 19th century, King Mongkut began to restore the site in the mid-1800s. Most of the present buildings were constructed between 1872 and 1889 by King Chulalongkorn. Bang Pa-In Palace comprises a collection of buildings of various ages and various architectural styles surrounded by a lake. Bang Pa-In was the residence of all the kings in the Ayutthaya period but it was let unoccupied when Bangkok became the capital. The facilities include vast gardens and landscaping, Wehart Chamrunt , a Chinese-style Royal Palace and throne room; the Warophat Phiman, a royal residence; Ho Withun Thasana , a brightly-painted lookout tower; and the Aisawan Thiphya-Art , a pavilion constructed in the middle of a pond.
